PRODUCT DETAILS

Fabric - Pure Kora Tissue Silk

Kora fabric is a type of plain weave fabric made from pure silk or cotton yarn. The term "Kora" means "unbleached" or "raw" in Hindi, and the fabric gets its name from its natural color, which is usually off-white or cream-colored.

Kora fabric is known for its unique texture and sheer quality. It has a slightly rough texture, which gives it a natural and rustic look. The fabric is also lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for summer clothing and accessories.

The sheer quality of Kora fabric is due to the thinness of the silk or cotton yarn used to make it. The fabric is semi-transparent, allowing light to pass through it, which creates a beautiful and delicate effect.

THE WEAVING TECHNIQUE

Kadhua is an exclusive technique of handloom weaving in Varanasi region, and it cannot be imitated on power loom. One piece of Kadhua saree takes 3-4 months engaging at least three persons to complete. It is a pure handloom product produced only in this region.

Tilfi weaving is a type of weaving technique used to create intricate designs and patterns in Banarasi silk sarees. The term "Tilfi" is derived from the Hindi words "Til" (meaning sesame seeds) and "Phool" (meaning flower). This technique involves creating small flower-like motifs using fine metallic threads, which are woven into the fabric using a handloom. The metallic threads used in Tilfi weaving are often made of gold or silver, which gives the saree a rich and luxurious look.

Tilfi weaving is a time-consuming and intricate process that requires great skill and precision. The weavers carefully create each motif by hand, and the resulting sarees are known for their beautiful and intricate designs. Tilfi weaving is one of the many weaving techniques used in Banarasi silk sarees, and it is highly valued for its unique and intricate designs.
