Yes — this cotton saree is handwoven in Varanasi on the traditional Banarasi handloom.
Cotton Banarasi is the lighter, everyday face of the Banarasi weave — the same handloom craft of Varanasi worked in soft cotton, easy to wear and drape.
The multicolour check is woven on the loom by interlacing dyed warp and weft threads in planned colour blocks, so the grid is part of the cloth rather than printed on top.
A contrast black-and-gold border woven on the Banarasi handloom, carrying a row of kalga (leaf) motifs picked out one by one.
One of the images shows the saree styled on a model for drape and styling reference only. The actual colour of this saree is shown in the flatlay product photos.
The saree is 5.5 metres. Please check the listing or reach out to us to confirm whether a blouse piece is included.
Daytime functions, office festives and casual celebrations. Pairs well with oxidised silver or temple jewellery.
Dry clean recommended. Store wrapped in muslin cloth away from direct light and moisture.
