Cotton has a particular honesty to it — no sheen to hide behind, no drape to do the work. What you see is what is woven. This lemon yellow cotton Banarasi carries scattered floral butis across a clean plain ground, each one kadwa-woven in real zari with the individual-shuttle precision that leaves a clean reverse and a sharp, distinct motif. The butis are small and compact — not showy, just present, catching light at intervals across the bright ground.

The border is narrow with a repeating kalgha paisley in gold zari. The pallu shifts register entirely — a dense phulwar jaal in real zari, intricate and full, a deliberate contrast to the restraint of the body.

Tested real zari throughout. For daytime weddings, summer festive occasions, and the wearer who wants craft without weight.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Crafted from the finest Pure Handloom Cotton, this fabric is a testament to the versatility of Banarasi looms. It offers the lightweight, airy comfort of cotton with a sophisticated, subtle sheen. Unlike heavy silks, this cotton base is perfect for all-day wear, providing a structured drape that remains cool and comfortable even in warmer climates.

THE WEAVING TECHNIQUE

This saree features the prestigious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique, where each motif is individually hand-woven into the fabric. There are no loose threads on the back, ensuring a clean, snag-free finish. This is paired with the Ektara (single-ply) foundation—a traditional weaving method that uses a fine, single-thread warp. This combination is rare and incredibly labor-intensive, resulting in a weave that is remarkably crisp, sharp, and detailed.
