Slate grey is a ground that holds everything quietly — and this Katan Mashru uses that quality to full effect. The entire body is covered in a laharia tanchoi jaal, sweeping diagonal wave forms woven in rose-gold silk weft that move across the fabric like water caught in light. Each wave is filled with fine internal texture lines, giving the jaal a depth and dimension that a flat pattern cannot achieve. The ground barely shows — what reads instead is continuous, fluid movement.

Katan Mashru brings the best of both constructions the silk warp gives the face its sheen and structure, the Mashru construction in the weft makes it lighter and more breathable than pure Katan, sitting comfortably against the skin through long occasions.

The border is narrow and composed multiple bands of silver-gold zari in fine geometric fill, precise and unobtrusive. A clean slate blue selvedge closes the edge.

For evening weddings, festive functions, and the wearer who wants a Banarasi that moves rather than sits still.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Fabric Details – Satin Silk

Crafted in Pure Satin Silk, the fabric offers a lustrous sheen, soft texture, and fluid drape. The luxurious finish makes it ideal for both grand celebrations and elegant soirées. The combination of Tanchoi artistry and Kadwa detailing in silver zari gives this saree its distinctive Banarasi allure.

The Weaving Technique

Weaving Technique – Tanchoi with Kadwa Border

The saree is woven using the Tanchoi weaving technique, where multiple silk threads are interlaced to create intricate patterns without any floats on the back, resulting in a smooth, tapestry-like texture. Complementing this is the Kadwa border, meticulously handwoven with silver zari threads — a hallmark of fine Banarasi craftsmanship that requires exceptional skill and patience.
