Weave –  Kadhua with Konya.

Kadua is the traditional art of hand-stitched designs on pure silk yarn which is is a painstaking technique that requires skill and effort. Besides being labor-intensive the traditional kadua also requires skill and dexterity.

Koniya, or corner motifs, is an ancient banarasi handloom weaving technique where the meeting point of the body of the saree and the pallu or aanchal (koniya) features prominent intricately weaved motifs, usually paisleys, independent of the design on the body of the saree. Since the motif is separately weaved it’s a time and labor-consuming process and hence adds to the exclusiveness of the saree.
