This Banarasi georgette bandhani saree shades from deep leaf green into peacock and back again, and across every inch of it run hand tied bandhani dots. Each dot begins as a knot, thousands of them pinched and tied by hand before the fabric meets the dye, so no two ever fall exactly alike.

Between the lattices sit flowers of gota patti, small rounds of gold folded and stitched by hand, catching the light the way sequins never quite manage.

Then the pallu turns red. Its own field of bandhani closes under a woven gold zari border where rose pink flowers bloom in a running jaal, the classic pairing of green body and red pallu that bandhani has trusted for generations.
