A magenta purple katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi in the cutwork technique, the body laid out in floral stripe bands of sona-rupa gold and silver zari, divided by fine temple (kanagan) zigzag detailing. The pallu deepens into a broad floral-jaal panel, with scattered floral butis carrying the design across the rich purple ground.

In cutwork, the floating threads behind each motif are clipped away by hand to leave a clean, defined buti — labour-intensive work that gives the saree its crisp finish. The gold-and-silver florals against the deep magenta make for a vivid, regal pairing.

Suited to weddings, receptions and festive occasions — pairs well with emerald, jade or yellow stone jewellery.
