Two colours — indigo and rust — and between them a complete geometry. An octagon

Cranes mid-flight — long-necked, wings swept back, each one caught at a slightly different angle — are scattered across the rust red gajji silk ground in indigo and cream. The birds are placed with enough space between them that the warm rust ground breathes through the composition. Rust and indigo is the heartland of the Ajrakh palette — earth and sky, each making the other more itself.

Sold by the metre. Width approximately 43 cm.

Styling Tips:
Use as a blouse fabric with a plain rust or indigo saree — the crane motif at the back and sleeves reads beautifully. As a kurta, plan the placement so cranes in flight run across the shoulder and chest. At 2.5 metres as a dupatta the open scatter means each crane falls at a different point when draped.
