Long-legged flamingos — neck curved, body rounded, each one rendered in cream and indigo with small floral sprigs — are scattered across the black gajji silk ground with the openness of a composition that trusts the ground as much as the motif. The birds vary in pose, some upright, some with heads dipped, giving the body a naturalistic quality that no jaal could achieve.

The lotus border is wide and bold in indigo on cream — emphatic at top and bottom. The pallu builds in density: a dense floral kalgha scroll in indigo and maroon, a running animal band, and a peacock feather drop row at the outer edge. From open body to layered pallu — the saree unfolds through registers of detail.
