Katan is een draad, gemaakt door een verschillend aantal zijdefilamenten te draaien, al naar gelang de behoefte, geeft een stevige structuur aan de achtergrondstof. Katan is een effen geweven stof met pure zijden draden.

Weven – Kadwa Rangkat

Kadua is tde traditionele kunst van met de hand gestikte ontwerpen op puur zijden garen. Dit is een nauwgezette techniek die vaardigheid en inspanning vereist. Behalve dat het arbeidsintensief is, vereist de traditionele kadua ook vaardigheid en behendigheid.

Rangkat is een traditionele handgeweven weeftechniek waarbij tijdens het weven veel veranderingen in de schering en de inslag worden aangebracht, waardoor een veelkleurige prachtige sari ontstaat. Het vergt intensieve arbeid en tijd om dit prachtige stuk te maken.

Fabric - Pure Banarasi Katan Silk.

Katan is a thread prepared by twisting a different number of silk filaments according to requirements giving a firm structure to the background fabric. Katan is a plain-woven fabric with pure silk threads. It consists of two lines twisted together and is mainly used for the warp of light materials.
THE WEAVING TECHNIQUE

Weave – Kadwa Rangkat

Kadua is the traditional art of hand-stitched designs on pure silk yarn which is is a painstaking technique that requires skill and effort. Besides being labor-intensive the traditional kadua also requires skill and dexterity.

Rangkat is a traditional handloom weaving technique that involves making many changes in the warp and the weft while weaving thus producing a multicolored exquisite saree. It involves intensive labor and time to craft this stunning piece.
