Everything you need to know before getting started
Yes — this gajji silk saree is handwoven in Varanasi using the kadwa technique, where every motif is individually woven into the fabric by hand.
Gajji silk is a fine satin-weave silk known for its smooth surface and soft sheen. It drapes fluidly and catches light beautifully.
Kadwa is a technique where each motif is woven individually with no floating threads on the reverse. Meenakari refers to the multicolour detailing within the motifs — here, the floral sprays in the aanchal.
The multicolour meenakari floral sprays are concentrated in the aanchal, with fine leaf butis scattered lightly across the body.
Festive gatherings, day functions and intimate celebrations. Pairs well with gold, polki or coloured stone jewellery.
