A soft peach katan silk brocade, worked tone on tone so the pattern only shows when the light moves across it.
The booti sits in a wide regular repeat across most of the cloth, a small upright flowering sprig, each one woven in zari against the peach rather than over it. Where the fabric turns, the design opens into a denser floral jaal, the same sprig grown into a full connected vine. Having both on one length gives you a choice when you cut, a quiet field for a body and a richer section for a yoke or a border.
Katan silk is woven from pure twisted mulberry filament. It is smooth and strong with a soft natural sheen, and it holds a crisp line when stitched, which is what makes it good for structured pieces rather than only draped ones. It takes a blouse, a kurta or a short jacket equally well.
