Round rosettes sit in the gaps between, and fine gold vine runs through everything, so there is no plain ground left anywhere.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTanchoi carries its pattern in silk rather than zari. Several coloured wefts run together behind the cloth and surface only where the design calls for them, which is why the motif reads as painted rather than raised. Against a pink this pale the violet does the structural work and the gold keeps it warm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKalka Ambi has been woven in grey, silver, green, beige, black, yellow and blue.
