Fabric -  Pure Banarasi Katan Silk

Katan is a thread, prepared by twisting a different number of silk filaments according to requirements giving a firm structure to the background fabric. Katan is a plain-woven fabric with pure silk threads.

Weave –  Cutwork or Phekwa brocade is a traditional Banarasi weaving technique that uses extra weft threads to create intricate motifs across the width of the fabric. Cutwork, or katruan, is a technique used in Phekwa brocade where the extra weft threads are clipped off to create a sublime effect. Cutwork Banarasi sarees are made using cotton warp threads and regular weft threads to create embossed designs featuring floral motifs. The result is a luxurious and beautiful fabric that is highly sought after. These weaving techniques are just two examples of the rich and diverse traditions found in Banarasi saree weaving.

Note- There may be slight color variations due to photographic reasons.

This is a hand-woven product and any irregularities in the weaving or pattern should not be taken as a defect. These irregularities make every handloom piece unique
