THE WEAVING TECHNIQUE

Weave – Kadwa Rangkat with githi

This saree is crafted using the traditional Rangkat weaving technique, where multiple colored threads are meticulously interwoven on the loom to create a harmonious striped or blended effect. The Githi technique enhances the design with finely detailed woven motifs, adding depth and texture to the overall composition — a true reflection of Banaras artistry.

Githi technique is a traditional method where zari threads are tightly knotted or interlocked during weaving to create raised, textured motifs.

Instead of flat weaving:

The zari is twisted and locked

It creates a slightly embossed / bead-like effect

The motif looks denser and more defined

It adds durability to the design

Think of it as giving the motif a subtle 3D richness.
