Gold and silver brocades referred to as Kimkhwab or Kinkhab-  ‘kin’ means gold and ‘khwab’ means dream – a ‘golden dream’. & “little” (kam) “dream” (khab)  – a ‘little dream’. Kinkhab is the best-known brocade from Varanasi. Its specialty is the use of profuse gold or silver thread that sometimes the silk background is hardly visible. Brocade is a woven pattern that is purely decorative and independent of the structure of the cloth which is achieved using extra pattern weft or extra warp.)
