A butter yellow katan silk saree handwoven in Varanasi, the body laid in a fine self-tone gold zari jaali — a delicate diamond mesh ground — and brought to life with an all-over multicolour kadwa meenakari jaal. Roses and blossoms in pink, red, blue and purple wind through soft green leaves, almost painterly, each motif woven individually into the cloth. A wide gold zari pallu, dense with diamond brocade, finishes the saree.

In kadwa weaving, each motif is woven separately on the loom rather than carried across the back, so every flower sits clean and self-contained on the silk. The jaali ground gives the saree its luminous gold base; the meenakari blooms read like a garden picked out in coloured thread.

Fabric - Pure Banarasi Katan Silk.

Katan is a thread prepared by twisting a different number of silk filaments according to requirements giving a firm structure to the background fabric. Katan is a plain-woven fabric with pure silk threads. It consists of two lines twisted together and is mainly used for the warp of light materials.


Here is such a masterpiece intricately crafted by our weavers. The beautiful aanchal with the amalgamation of Pink, yellow, green, and purple colors with intricate zari work and Konya designs all over makes ending the pallu in red color with stunning golden zari work one of our exclusive pieces. The saree has a golden body, small golden zari booties, and a red border.

Kadua is the traditional art of hand-stitched designs on pure silk yarn which is is a painstaking technique that requires skill and effort. Besides being labor-intensive the traditional kadua also requires skill and dexterity.
