Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before getting started
Yes — this kora cotton saree is handwoven in Varanasi using the ektara kadwa technique.
Kora cotton is a fine, light cotton with a crisp, airy fall — a softer, more breathable take on the Banarasi weave, beautiful for daytime and warm-weather wear.
Ektara is the single-shuttle Banarasi technique — a slower, more painstaking method that gives meenakari motifs their painterly clarity and depth.
Kadwa means each motif is woven individually on the loom rather than carried across the back, so every flower sits clean and self-contained on the cloth.
Meenakari is the use of coloured resham thread within a woven motif to add detail — here, the painterly pink, purple, blue, peach and green tones in each flower.
Tested zari is woven with real metal thread that has been certified and tested for purity — the gold tone is true and lasting.
