Kinkhab, the weave our house is named for. The densest of all Banarasi brocades, where zari covers the ground so completely that the silk beneath barely shows. Here the entire field of handwoven pure katan silk is worked in fine silver zari jaal, and over that shimmering ground blooms a full meenakari garden, roses, blossom clusters and star flowers in magenta, coral, teal, violet and marigold, threaded together by pale green vines.

Every flower is a separate resham shade woven into the brocade, so the saree reads soft lilac from a distance and reveals a new colour every time you look closer.

Silver floral bel borders frame both edges, and the pallu sets two bands of flowering jaal around a central panel of diamond zari before closing on a lilac and silver striped anchal. A day wedding saree with pearls, or an evening one with amethysts. Comes with a blouse piece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting started
Yes — this katan silk saree is handwoven in Varanasi using the kadwa technique.
Katan silk is a pure silk woven from tightly twisted threads, known for its durability, smooth finish and rich drape.
Kadwa means each motif is woven individually on the loom rather than carried across the back, so every flower sits clean and self-contained on the silk. Meenakari is the use of coloured resham thread within those motifs, here giving the florals their pink, red, blue and purple detail.
The body is laid in a fine self-tone gold zari jaali — a delicate diamond mesh — that creates a luminous ground for the meenakari blooms to sit on.
A wide gold zari pallu in diamond brocade, framing the meenakari body.
Weddings, receptions and festive evenings. Pairs well with contrasting jewellery to set off the colour.
Dry clean only. Store wrapped in muslin cloth away from direct light and moisture.
