Collection: Kangura

Kangura is an exclusive in-house collection designed by Khinkhwab, named for the scalloped arch that runs along every border. Kangura is the Hindi word for the stepped battlement that crowns forts and temple walls across North India, and that silhouette is woven here into pure Banarasi silk.

Each saree carries a quiet body of self-stripe or self-tone weave, so the eye travels straight to the border. There the scallops rise in a contrasting ground, outlined in gold or silver zari and filled with bel work, kalgha forms, florals and meenakari touches. The arches step up into the body rather than sitting flat, giving the border a sculpted edge that moves as you walk.

Handwoven by our karigar families in Varanasi, these are sarees for receptions, evening functions and festive dinners. Every piece comes with a matching unstitched blouse piece.
