A rose pink kora silk saree handwoven in Varanasi in the Ektara weave, the body covered in a fine floral meena jaal — flowering vines worked in white, rani, blue, orange and green threadwork that scatter colour across the soft pink ground. A large scalloped kangura border in gold zari frames the saree, set against a fine self-stripe.

Kora silk has a crisp, sheer hand and a soft natural sheen, while the kadwa meenakari motifs are individually woven so the colour sits clean within each bloom. The all-over floral jaal gives this saree a fresh, garden-like charm.

Suited to festive gatherings, day functions and celebrations — pairs well with emerald, jade or green stone jewellery.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Fabric - Pure Kora Silk - The Kora or Organza Silk, which was primarily made out of twisting only silk yarns and filaments, The sheer, almost-see-through nature of the fabric helps maintain its weightlessness to it, which coupled with the sheen it derives from the silk yarns, adds the required tone of glamour to one’s outfit. This is a preferable fabric for summer.

The Weaving Technique

Weave - Phekua Jaal

Extra loose floated thread on the backside which is not woven in design is removed from that pattern. These designs provide a transparent look. Jasmine, and marigold floral designs are used in cutwork. Threads are cut manually.
