An ivory cream kora silk saree handwoven in Varanasi, the pale body scattered with flower-on-stem butis — gold blooms set above bright pink meenakari leaves and stems. The pallu carries a broad floral-jaal panel in gold zari, bordered to match, the pink meena giving the neutral ground a playful lift.

Kora silk has a crisp, sheer hand and a soft natural sheen that shows off both zari and meenakari to effect. Worked in kadwa, each buti is individually woven into the cloth, keeping the motifs clean and well-defined.

Suited to festive gatherings, day functions and intimate celebrations — pairs well with ruby, garnet or red stone jewellery.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Fabric - Pure Kora Silk - The Kora or Organza Silk, which was primarily made out of twisting only silk yarns and filaments, The sheer, almost-see-through nature of the fabric helps maintain its weightlessness to it, which coupled with the sheen it derives from the silk yarns, adds the required tone of glamour to one’s outfit. This is a preferable fabric for summer.

The Weaving Technique

Kadwa is a pure loom-woven technique where each motif is woven directly into the fabric using individual bobbins (called tilli or nali) for each color and zari section. There is no supplementary weft floating across the back — the extra threads are woven in only where needed, and cleanly cut or turned at the edges of each motif.
