Silver and off white on tissue silk is a combination that exists entirely in light. The fabric itself carries a natural metallic shimmer from the tissue construction, and across this luminous ground, scattered alfi butis in silver and gold zari catch the light at different angles, alternating between the two metallic tones in the characteristic alfi two-tone shift. The butis are small, compact, and snowflake-like in form, placed at even intervals across the ground with enough space between them that the tissue shimmer remains the primary statement.
A narrow pink selvedge runs the length, a single line of colour against the all-silver palette that makes the piece unmistakably Banarasi. The border is a narrow zari band, precise and unobtrusive. A saree for bridal occasions, evening ceremonies, and anyone who understands that silver is never plain.
